DOs & DONTs

DO's

  • Do obtain permission to use other people’s music, footage and pictures before using them
  • Do use your own original music
  • Do use footage and pictures you have taken
  • Do make sure you have permission from everyone taking part in your film to use their contribution (i.e. your cast, crew, and any contributors)

 

DON'T's

  • Don’t use other people’s music, footage or pictures if you don’t have their permission or they have said no
  • Don’t use music you’ve download from the internet or images or footage from sites such as YouTube or Myspace in your film – just because its online doesn’t mean the person who actually owns it has given you permission to use it
  • Don’t use cast and crew who won’t give you permission to use their contributions, otherwise you will have to remove any part of the film they were involved in your production
