Women in Film Award

Women in Film Award

Tropfest believes that initiatives like the Women in Film Award, which provides incentive for the participation of women across all filmmaking disciplines with a prize pack valued at $5,000, are very instrumental in encouraging more women to enter the festival. This year’s award was presented by Oscar-nominated actress Rachel Ward to Director Sal Cooper. We hope that increased awareness of the initiative and wider acknowledgment of women’s varied contributions to filmmaking will continue to spur further growth.
