Terms & Conditions of Entry
1. Promoter
The promoter is Tropfest Foundation Ltd (ABN 83 688 694 279) of [Level 7, 51-53 Druitt St, Sydney, 2000], a not-for-profit organisation registered in Australia (“Promoter”). To contact the Promoter please email go@tropfest.com.
2. Competition Name
The Ultimate Tropfest Experience Competition (“Competition”).
3. Entry and Participation
Information on how to enter and prize details form part of these Terms and Conditions (“Terms”). Participation in this promotion is deemed acceptance of these Terms.
4. Eligibility
Entry is open to Australian residents aged 18 years and over.
Employees, contractors, directors and immediate family members of the Promoter and its related bodies corporate, agencies and prize suppliers directly associated with the administration of this Competition are not eligible to enter.
Notwithstanding the above, employees of Qantas Airways Limited and its related bodies corporate are eligible to enter this Competition.
Immediate family means any of the following: spouse, former spouse, de facto partner, child or step-child (whether natural or by adoption), parent, step-parent, grandparent, sibling, uncle, aunt, niece, nephew, or first cousin.
The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify any Entrant who does not meet the eligibility criteria, breaches any condition of these Terms, has engaged in any unlawful conduct or has engaged in other misconduct which could negatively impact the administration of the Competition or reputation of the Promoter or Qantas.
5. Competition Period
The Competition opens at 9:00am AEDT on 9 February 2026 and closes at 11:59pm AEDT on 15 February 2026 (“Competition Period”).
6. How to Enter
To enter, participants must during the Competition Period:

Complete the entry form including:
Full name
Email address
State / postcode
Submit a written response of 25 words or less answering the following question:
“Why should you win the Ultimate Tropfest Experience AND why do you think Tropfest matters to Australia?”
Only one (1) entry per person is permitted.
Entries that are incomplete, indecipherable, offensive, or submitted using automated methods will be deemed invalid.
7. Judging Criteria
This is a game of skill, and chance plays no part in determining the winners of the Competition (“Winners”).
The Promoter’s judging panel will select the Winners by judging your 25-word response against criteria which considers:
Creativity
Originality
Emotional impact
Cultural connection
Alignment with the spirit of the Promoter
Judges’ decisions are final and no correspondence will be entered into.
8. Winner Selection & Notification
Winners will be selected within 48 hours of the last day of the Competition Period. Winners will be notified via email and announced on Tropfest social channels. If a winner cannot be contacted within 72 hours, the Promoter reserves the right to award the prize to a reserve winner.
9. Prize Details
Total Prize Pool:
Approximate value: $5,000 AUD (depending on where you live)
There will be two (2) Winners and, accordingly, two (2) prizes to be won.
Each prize consists of the following for two (2) people:

Travel & Transfers
Return economy flights to Sydney via Qantas from the winner’s nearest Australian capital city (paid for by Tropfest).
For Sydney-based winners, flights are not required and will not be included.
For out of state visitors - return airport transfers in Sydney (chauffeured transport, paid for by Tropfest).
Winners are responsible for getting to / from their departure airport and associated costs.
Accommodation
Two (2) nights’ accommodation [in a double room] at Fraser Suites Sydney (paid for by Tropfest).
Festival Experience
VIP access to Tropfest 2026 in Centennial Park, including:
Access to The Garden VIP area
Hosted festival experience
Total Winners: Four (4) people (being two (2) prize winners × two (2) guests each).
10. Prize Conditions and Delivery
The Prize will be delivered by the Promoter’s staff via email, who will arrange and confirm all bookings relating to the Prize (being bookings for travel, transfers and accommodation).
Prizes are not transferable or redeemable for cash.
Travel must occur on dates determined by Tropfest in connection with the Tropfest 2026 event.
Winners are responsible for personal expenses including meals (unless otherwise stated), travel insurance, spending money, and incidentals.
If Winners or their guest are unable to attend on the scheduled dates or fail to meet travel schedules, the prize will be forfeited.
11. Conduct & Safety
During the Festival Experience, the Winners agree, and must ensure that their guests agree, that they will:
follow all instructions from the Promoter’s staff;
remain within publicly accessible areas; and
not engage in conduct which is unsafe or unlawful.
12. Expenses & Tax
Entrants are responsible for all costs associated with entering the Competition.
Tax implications may arise from winning a prize. Entrants should seek independent financial advice if necessary. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any tax consequences.
13. Publicity & Content Rights
By entering, participants consent, and must ensure that their guest consents, to the Promoter using their name, likeness, image, video, and entry content for promotional and marketing purposes without additional compensation. All entries become the property of the Promoter.
14. Intellectual Property
By entering this Competition, Entrants grant the Promoter a non-exclusive licence to use the content of their entry, or any part of the content of the entry, in any way the Promoter wishes (including modifying, adapting, copying, cropping, retouching, editing, publishing, broadcasting or communicating the entry whether in original or modified form in whole or in part) in all media for the purposes of the Promoter's business on its website, social media or in any marketing campaign, without payment to the Entrant of royalties or compensation. If requested by the Promoter, Entrants agree to sign any further documentation required by the Promoter to give effect to this clause 14.
By entering this Competition, Entrants consent to the Promoter dealing with their entry content in any way that may otherwise infringe the Entrant's moral rights, and agree not to assert their moral rights (wherever such rights are recognised) in respect of their entry against the Promoter or its assigns, licensees or successors.
Entrants warrant that use of the Entry Content by the Promoter will not infringe third-party intellectual property rights.
15. Liability & Indemnity
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Promoter accepts no responsibility and excludes all liability whether arising in tort (including without limitation negligence), contract or otherwise for any personal injury or any liability, loss or damage (including without limitation loss of opportunity or loss of profits) whether direct, indirect, special or consequential, arising out of the Competition, including, without limitation:
any technical difficulties or equipment malfunction (whether or not under the Promoter’s control);
any theft, unauthorised access or third party interference;
any entry that is late, lost, altered, damaged or misdirected (whether or not after their receipt by the Promoter) due to any reason beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter; or
the Winner’s acceptance of the Prize.
Nothing in these Terms limits any rights under Australian Consumer Law.
16. Force Majeure
If the Competition is affected by events beyond the Promoter’s reasonable control (including weather, safety issues, or government restrictions), the Promoter reserves the right to modify, suspend or cancel the Competition.
17. Privacy
Personal information will be handled in accordance with the Promoter’s Privacy Policy and the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
Personal information of Entrants may be used for the purpose of conducting the Competition or for promotional and marketing purposes, unless the Entrant opts out. This may involve disclosing the information to third parties, including local regulatory authorities and the Promoter’s agents or third-party service providers (‘Purpose’). Entrants who do not opt out, consent to the use of their personal information for the purpose.
18. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia.
